Dr. Talbot is the Principal Medical Expert at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies and a research professor at Keck School of Medicine of USC. Dr. Talbot previously founded the world’s largest medical education research and development program at the Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center, encompassing more than $275 million and 150 projects under his leadership. He has been at the center of many of the world’s major medical simulation R&D efforts.
His accomplishments include numerous simulations, serious games, open-source models, research studies and exploratory creative endeavors. At ICT, he is creating fully-interactive virtual standardized patients. He serves as the technology chairman for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
A Lebanese-American, Dr. Talbot has been featured by Al-Jazeera and the Arab-American National Museum. As a pediatrician and scientist. Dr. Talbot endeavors to create meaningful improvements that will advance the state of the art in medical education and patient care. Work interests include serious games, natural user interfaces, virtual and augmented reality, virtual interactive humans and microcontrollers. He especially enjoys transitioning high-technology into practical applications that benefit people.
